My husband and I love these for a treat. We keep them in the freezer. Can I ask why the collagen peptide or whey powder is used in the recipe. It doesn't bother me, just curious. Is it for extra protein.
Thanks

I made these tonight. Not only were they extremely easy, but so, so good! I only had egg white powder and used that - worked great. I will be making these often for sure. Next time, I would like to add more peanut butter flavor so I will try incorporating more peanut butter somehow. Love, love these!!

Powdered milk or cream will work too. Or, you can try upping the powdered sweetener but it may get too sweet.

I have a type that I think i found. I printed this recipe out a few years back and it had 2/3 cup of collagen or whey protein which worked really good. Now that has changed, and at first when I went to find the recipe on Pinterest instead of looking in my folder, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't coming together properly. I got my old printed copy out and noticed the difference. I just thought I should tell you as it does work much better with the 2/3 cup than only the 1/3 cup.

These keto chocolate peanut butter bars are fantastic! One of my favorite keto snack s for sure. To me they taste just like Reese’s peanut butter eggs. So easy to make too! I used PB2 peanut butter powder instead of the whey powder. They turned out beautifully. Kudos!

I made these bars yesterday because I was craving something sweet. They are so GOOD. Even my husband, who really doesn't have a sweet tooth (lucky Guy, I guess) likes them. So now I have competition for this yummy treat! I also like the fact it has the protein in each piece. I used primarily Bocha Sweet and Erythritol as my sweeteners, because I can't get the brand suggested (Canadian). Bocha Sweet is hard to buy, it's no longer on Amazon.ca, but can be bought directly through the company, situated in Saskatchewan under www.Sweetandsprouted.com . It is a wonderful sweetener with no aftertaste at all and zero net carbs. For the U.S. , it might be available on amazon.com.What a wonderful recipe, Thanks, Lisa. I can't wait till your new cookbook arrives!

It's usually labeled as "Natural" but you need to double check the ingredients to make sure it's only "Peanuts" or just "Peanuts and Salt". Most grocery stores will carry unsweetened peanut butter which is what you are looking for.
