Follow this simple recipe to make your own homemade chili seasoning mix. It's budget-friendly, and you can make it as spicy as you like! There are just eight simple ground spices in this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon allspice
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Transfer to an airtight container or jar.
  • Use 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon mix for each batch of chili using 1.25 to 2 pounds of meat.

Notes

Contents can be added to a jar with lid and combined by shaking. To ensure the ingredients are well combined, at least ¼ of the jar should be empty.
Mix should last for up to the shortest best buy date of the ingredients.
