As far as dips go, the Green Goddess dip is one of the most flavorful and versatile options out there. It doubles as a dressing for salads AND as a spread for sandwiches and more! It's creamy, tangy, and herby and perfect for dipping all sorts of keto-friendly snacks and veggies into. Easy to make and perfect for your next summer BBQ potluck!
With spring season in full swing, it's the perfect time to use all of the fresh herbs you can find. And what better way to enjoy them than in a delicious and creamy Green Goddess dip?
The Green Goddess dip gets its name from its vibrant green color, which comes from the mix of fresh herbs and spinach. It's a healthier twist on the classic Green Goddess dressing, using Greek yogurt as a base instead of mayonnaise and sour cream.
And with only 2 grams of carbs per serving, it's also a keto-friendly option for those watching their carb intake!
How To Make The Most Delicious Green Goddess Dip
Grab your chef hats and scoop up the freshest greens you can find. Using really simple keto swaps, you'll have this dip whipped up in no time!
To assemble a fresh Green Goddess dressing dip, you will need:
- Greek yogurt and mayonnaise for creaminess and tanginess.
- A mix of fresh herbs and spinach for brightness, flavor, and color.
- Lemon juice for a burst of citrusy freshness.
- Garlic to give it that irresistible garlicky bite.
- Anchovy paste or fish sauce for added umami. (This is optional!)
Chopping up all the fresh herbs and spinach really mixes their flavors into the dip just right.
Can I Use Dried Herbs Instead Of Fresh Herbs?
While fresh herbs give the best flavor, you can use dried herbs as a substitute. The flavors might be slightly different, so adjust the quantities to your taste. You might also not get that bright green color, but the taste will still be delicious!
Best Hack To Make A Creamy Dip
Wondering how to ace that ever-elusive creamy consistency without using traditional dairy products? This is where the Greek yogurt comes in. It's thicker and tangier than regular yogurt, which makes it a great substitute for sour cream or mayonnaise.
If you want to make this dip dairy-free, you can use a plant-based yogurt alternative, such as coconut milk or almond milk yogurt, instead. Just make sure to choose unsweetened varieties to keep it keto-friendly!
