    The Perfect Snack Bite

These keto fat bombs are the perfect solution when you need a boost of healthy fats. They will keep you feeling full between meals when you need it most!

Ingredients For White Chocolate Fat Bomb

There are literally just three ingredients in these little fat bombs. All you need to make them is some:

    • Cocoa butter
    • Coconut oil
    • Vanilla stevia drops

The vanilla stevia gives them a fantastic flavor while the cocoa butter and coconut oil are both excellent sources of healthy fats!

Please note: Check out the recipe card at the bottom for a full list of ingredients used to make this low carb recipe.

Video Tutorial For Fat Bombs Recipes

If you prefer to make these fat bombs along with me, take a look at this video tutorial I put together for you!

How To Make White Chocolate Fat Bombs

These are so easy to make! You can scroll down to the printable recipe card for the entire recipe.

First, I want to share an overview of how to make them.

Basically, all you do is melt the cocoa butter and coconut oil over low heat or in a double broiler.

    melting ingredients in chocolate melter

After they are completely melted (it doesn't take very long), stir in the stevia drops.

Then, pour this mixture into silicone cupcake molds/cups. Put these in the refrigerator or freezer until they are completely hardened.

    That's it!

Frequently Asked Questions About Keto Fat Bombs

Before I get to the recipe card, I wanted to answer a few questions about fat bombs.

How much fat is in each fat bomb?

I was able to divide the melted fat so that each mold had about 1 tablespoon of fat.

I recently discovered how much better a low carb diet works when high amounts of fat are incorporated into the food.

Like most people, I grew up thinking more fat was bad, but it turns out the opposite is true when you eat a low carb diet.

fat bomb mixture setting in molds

How many fat bombs can I eat on keto?

You'll need to count your macros to make sure you are eating what your body needs. Some people need more healthy fats than others and some need to eat fewer.

This white chocolate keto fat bombs recipe will become a favorite way consume fat!

For most people, one fat bomb a day is plenty to give them the fat their body needs in order to stay in ketosis.

How do fat bombs keep me in ketosis?

When you eat something with lots of healthy fats (like these fat bombs) your body starts to become trained to use fat as energy instead of carbs.

Fatty acids from dietary fat and body fat can be used directly by cells as a source of energy on a low carb diet. Dietary fat also produces ketones which are another source of energy for the body.

On a low carb diet, ketones are an important replacement for glucose.

Reducing carbs will trigger the conversion of body fat into ketones so they can be used as a source of cellular energy. This is what helps you lose weight.

How long do fat bombs last in the freezer?

Fat bombs last a really long time in the freezer. Just store them in a sealed freezer-safe bag or container. They will stay fresh for up to 6 months.

Keep in mind that if you freeze them, they will have a thicker texture that is more difficult to bite. They are easier to chew if you let them thaw a bit first.

keto white chocolate fat bombs stacked up with one in front

What other flavors of fat bombs can I make?

I love how easy these fat bombs are to personalize and change.

Drizzle some sugar-free chocolate syrup on top. Or, melt some sugar-free dark chocolate and pour them on top, making layers.

You can also crush sugar-free peppermint candies and sprinkle them on top!

This is a very basic recipe that lends itself to a ton of creativity. Have fun with it! Just make sure to use all sugar-free options when you add things to it.

My favorite brand to use is ChocZero. I highly recommend checking it out.

Can I use erythritol instead of stevia drops?

Yes, you can use any kind of your favorite sugar substitute. In order to maintain the texture, I recommend using a liquid or granular sugar substitute.

Make sure to not use a powdered sugar substitute.

Why are these fat bombs such a healthy keto snack?

It took some time and research for me to fully understand why I needed to increase my fat intake on the low carb way of eating. And, if you try to read science articles on gluconeogenesis, it may be way over your head!

Sometimes it's difficult for me to get adequate dietary fat in my diet as a lot of my favorite snacks aren't very high in fat.

To get more fat in my diet, I've started to make fat bomb recipes which are very popular for those on low carb keto diets.

I love simple recipes and this three-ingredient recipe for white chocolate high fat keto treats couldn't be easier.

Other Fat Bomb Recipes To Try

    Ingredients

    • ¼ cup cocoa butter about 25g
    • ¼ cup coconut oil about 35g
    • 10 drops vanilla stevia drops
    US Customary - Metric

    Instructions

    • Melt together cocoa butter and coconut oil over low heat or in double boiler.
    • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla flavored stevia drops.
    • Pour into molds.
    • Chill until hardened.
    • Remove from molds and keep stored in the refrigerator.

    Notes

Makes 8 fat bombs (1 tablespoon healthy oil each)
Vanilla extract is a bit difficult to work in. I've found a powdered vanilla works a little better as does the powdered stevia extract.

Very disappointed. I didn’t care for these at all. There wasn’t much flavor and it was just mildly flavored oil. In high hope, I made a double batch, but couldn’t even eat one, and am tossing them all.

These were created to use as a snack with egg fasting so the ingredients are limited. You can add in some flavored collagen or powdered sweetener and extract if needed to lessen the oil and up the flavor.

My husband and I did not care for these too much. There was no vanilla flavoring, it just tasted Like Cocoa butter. I used the exact ingredients in the recipe. I do think this would be good a good base for other flavorings. If anyone has used this with other flavors I'd like to know the flavor and sweetener you used.

I tried different flavours in a mold meant for my instant pot, I put a few drops of flavour in the bottom, then mixed them. Apparently food colouring doesn’t mix well with oil, lol! I did that so I could tell them apart easier. 😉 I also skipped any sweetener.

I tried sugarless maple syrup, rose water, orange extract, lemon juice, peppermint extract, matcha powder, and a flavoured matcha. Most of the flavours separated out, but they were still faintly flavoured, except the rose one, that one mixed quite well, and the mint. That was almost overpowering.

Not sure if I messed up somewhere or if my expectations were wrong. Just tried it, and all I taste is the cacao butter, none of the sweetness. I added both stevia and monk fruit. Really was excited to try this but I was hoping for a sweeter result.

I've found that using the powdered extracts with a little vanilla extract actually works better. Liquid sweeteners don't mix in as well as the powdered ones.

This recipe looks great, but I have a question. I'm not a big fan of buying single-use products, so I was wondering if you think it would work with a combination of un-flavored stevia and vanilla extract, which I already have? If so, any idea what amounts?

A combination of unflavored stevia and vanilla extract works as a sub for the vanilla stevia.

I tried the reg stevia/vanilla extract substitution, unfortunately, once the bombs froze the vanilla separated out. The original recipe may taste great, idk, but mine were terrible. Lol

Vanilla powder should correct that and I'll add that to the recipe. Even with the drops, it tends to separate out, but it's a smaller amount.

Just be careful with erythritol. Too much can crystallize and make it crunchy. Monk fruit extract is a better option but any sweetener should work out.

I could not get the Stevia to dissolve in the oils. Any tips for helping this? I ended up using 39 drops of Stevia because I could not get them to become sweet and I think it is because the Stevia did not want to break down. Thanks

I add in the stevia at the end because the mixture does need to be a bit cooler to get it mixed in well. Was the mix still very hot? It should mix in okay when the mix has cooled to warm from hot.

      Hi!
I made the recipie and have a few questions . I used Organic cacao butter. Is there a difference in cocoa butter. I also used the liquid coconut oil. The stevia was just the regular , not the vanilla. It did not taste that good. What do you think was the problem? Thanks

You should use the regular coconut oil and there shouldn't be any difference in cocoa butter. Also, if you use regular stevia, adding in vanilla extract will give a better taste.

I tend to use lemon or lime juice in recipes to offset the bitterness of the stevia extract.
For this one, I used the juice of half a lime.
It actually complemented all other flavors really well, and the amount of carbs you get from the juice is pretty negligible (~0.5g/serving).
...And if you're feeling gourmet: try chopped basil as a garnish. 😉

I was just reading the nutrition list for Anthony's cocoa butter and noticed it has zero carbs so could you not just eat eat by itself? I live on the road (truck driver) so fat bombs are not really an option for me. I add 2tbsp mct oil to my 24 oz of coffee every morning with 2tbsp of butter. How much more fat do I need to consume anyway?

It's difficult to mix liquid Stevia in with cocoa butter coconut oil, since the mixture is anhydrous and does not contain any emulsifier. So, allow the oils mixture to cool until it is starting to gel, then add your Stevia to the thickening oil mixture. It should stay suspended a little better.

What brand of cocoa butter is used? Can you use Now Foods brand. The back says food safe. Other ppl say it's just a moisturizer. Please help. Ordering from Amazon isn't an option for me at the moment either. TIA!

Do you have any sweet fat bombs that don't use coconut. I am allergic but can have butter.

Hi! I just made this recipe and only came up with 6 cups even though I kept them thin and small like your pictures, if not thinner. What went wrong? I combined 1/4 cup unmelted unrefined cocoa butter and 1/4 cup coconut oil and then melted them on the stove. Then I added the stevia. The mixture looked like melted butter and was only enough for 6 cups. Am I missing something?

It's the size of the cups. Mine are very narrow on the bottom.

The comments are confusing. Is the recipe correct, meaning is it 1/4 MELTED or NOT MELTED?

The coconut oil and cocoa butter are melted together. Then, the stevia is added.

You just melt 1/4 cup cocoa butter with 1/4 cup coconut oil and add about 10 drops stevia. Pour into molds and refrigerate. The fat bombs should just pop right out of the molds when chilled.

I am curious, though, how you arrived at 14g fat per serving of yours? 25g cocoa butter only has 25g fat and a 1/4c of coconut oil has ~55g fat. So, that's only 10g per tablespoon unless I'm missing something? Thanks!

I do think the fat grams are more like 10g or so. The original calculation must have had a mistake.

So, I figured out what happened. Cocoa butter and coconut oil have the same amount of fat: 1g per 1g. 1/4c is equal to about 56 grams (4 tbls) not 25g (1/8 cup or 28g). You were calculating fat for 1/4 cup, not 25g. So the fat calculations were correct just not for 25g measurements. 🙂

So I did it wrong? I can't do things wrong with my sons kept diet. My bombs are chilling and smelled surprisingly good and maybe my poor little dairy allergic and on the keto for a little over 5 months little 2 year old can taste something really delicious, but it sounds like if I followed the recipe of 25 grams, that was short I think of what you guys are saying here, I'll re-read over and figure it out. Gotta stay sharp all the time, its exhausting!

It's a good thing I saw this before I fed it to my baby (as my first time made bombs are chilling as I write) . I don't know what difference in his body it would make, to have 25 grams instead of 10 grams)and it being a mistake sounds like a BIG oopsies. Always check with your dietican. No wonder they smelled so good.

        • Lisa

          April 21, 2017 at 7:20 pm

It's 10 grams per mold if you divide between 8. The 25 grams is the weight of the cocoa butter.

Ok, I am convinced this is the perfect fat bomb base recipe. I love that it uses cocoa butter instead of just pure coconut oil. It really makes for a nice change from all the coconut already in a keto diet. This is the easiest recipe to make and change to whatever flavor you want, and I think it's brilliant! I have a lot of pure food flavors from LorAnn, so it's easy to adjust to whatever I'm desiring. However, I have to share my Peanut Butter Honey variation because OH MY GOD. Btw, I always use 50g of cocoa butter chips versus 25g along with the 1/4c oil (personal preference). Ok, (omitted stevia drops) added:

~2oz full fat coconut milk (12g fat, 2 carbs)
~4 TBL PB Fit Powder (3g fat, 4g net carbs, 12g protein)
~1/4c erythritol (no added counts. FYI: you can use granulated but it will settle to the bottom of your mold (let sit in hot butter/oil mix as long as possible). I suggest powdered if you have it or do it yourself in a coffee grinder)
~2 drops stevia glycerite (optional but invaluable for keto baking since it takes the edge off pure erythritol)

I cannot believe how delicious these turned out. Admittedly, it adds a touch of protein and carbs, about 1g protein and .5g carb per tablespoon. Since I add the extra cocoa butter and have a smaller sized mold, I get about 14 pieces (not TBL) per batch. If you are curious about the total counts for my exact recipe (and then you can divide it yourself): 1190 cal, 115g fat, 6g carbs, 12g protein.

Have you ever heard of "rabbit starvation"? It's a term that has been around for a long time. I believe it refers to times where people who've been out in the woods for a long time, living off of just hunted animals, mostly rabbits, would get sick and die from lack of fat, since wild game is so lean. Here's the wikipedia article about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbit_starvation

I think that the question may be about volume, A cup of melted cocoa butter would contain, by weight, much more cocoa butter than if it was just cut into small peices and measured.

        • Lisa

          May 28, 2016 at 5:32 am

I used unmelted. I usually weigh it, not sure why I didn't in this recipe. I'll add the weight for 1/4 cup unmelted.

          Hi Lisa,
The coconut oil I have is a solid like the cocoa butter. Do you just measure out 25g each on a kitchen scale?

        • Lisa

          March 28, 2017 at 5:13 pm

I'm not sure if the weight for coconut oil would be the same. You may want to use 4 tablespoons which is equivalent to 1/4 cup.

I am not a big eater and am looking for ways to boost my good fat as that is so low my bad fat is a bit high. Is this good or bad fat? I have never used cocoa butter as food so I was unaware of the type of fat but if it the same as nuts then I am all for trying it.

Cocoa butter has a lot of fat, not carbs. There are zero carbs in a cup of cocoa butter which is similar to most oils.
